Getting here
The library's main entrance is on the first floor of the Commonwealth Building.
Access to the Commonwealth Building is currently only via the ³Ô¹ÏÍø College Translational and Experimental Medicine (ICTEM) Building. You must have a library card or ³Ô¹ÏÍø ID to access both of these buildings. NHS staff can obtain a library card by registering for library membership online.
- Enter via the revolving door and use your library card on the turnstiles.
- Use the lifts (to your left) or the red stairs (directly ahead) to proceed to the 1st floor.
- Follow the signs for the Commonwealth Building - the bridge is at the end of the seating area.
- Cross the glass bridge into the Commonwealth Building
- The Library entrance will be on your right.
NHS users must register for library membership and wait until you receive further instructions via email before visiting the library. On your first visit present your NHS ID and email confirming library membership to ICTEM reception staff, and follow the directions above to access the library and receive your library card between:

About us
The Library has PCs and WiFi available on both floors, with a variety of study and collaborative spaces for individuals and groups, including height-adjustable desks.
Bookable spaces include the Zeneca Room for groups, and 4 solo pods suitable for private video calls and meetings. The Library Teaching Room has 27 PCs and is suitable for teaching.
Our book collection focuses on general medicine and biomedicine, nursing and other healthcare professions and topics. When the main floor is closed you can return books using the book returns box on the ground floor.

- ³Ô¹ÏÍø staff must use Celcat to book the room

To book, please check availability for "HMCW GS7 - Library Teaching Room", create a Celcat event, then email lib.hamm@imperial.ac.uk requesting to add the event to the room, quoting your Celcat Event ID number.
Zeneca room
The Zeneca room is available for in-person and hybrid meetings. It can also be used for practising presentations, small group teaching and project work.

Solo pods
The library has 4 pods. These 1 person booths are suitable for activities such as video calls and online meetings.

- Red and yellow pods are on the 1st floor by the library main entrance. Pink pod is on the Ground Floor in the Group Study area. Green pod is on the Ground Floor in the printer area.
